The Stocks Go Green!
Apparently, today was a good day for shareholders. Many stocks took a positive turn and became green. For people who are ignorant about stocks, just know that green is good and red is bad. So when stocks become green, shareholders of that company (or companies) will receive more money if they sell their share.
People who “play”, well, invest, in stocks are like people who play the lottery. You really don’t know what can happen. If you put all your money in a company that seems promising, and within a small period of time it goes bankrupt, you lose. You lose all your money. So like lottery, you could win or lose - and it’s not really up to you at all.
Are you a risk taker? Only a courageous person can do this.
There are millions of investors in the world, and I must say what they do is very admirable. They have faith, hopes and expectations, stronger than anyone who does anything else.
Today the stocks go green, but tomorrow they may turn red. We’ll just have to wait and see.

The Genie is out of the Bottle for Aguilera!
Christina Aguilera FINALLY confirms her pregnancy to Glamour magazine… nearly 5 months after MTV News reported the rumors! Her and her husband (husband? since when?!) Jordan Bratman are expecting a baby early next year.
The young girl from The Mickey Mouse Club is now a woman, reporting, “”I want to get it right” (ahem, unlike Miss Spears). Aguilera was abused by her father as a child, so she is even more determined to not have her baby grow up in that environment.
What do you think the Beautiful singer will have? A boy or a girl? Answer here!
J.K Rowling’s New Wizard Book!
Attention all Harry Potter Fans: J.K Rowling is publishing another wizard book! BUT…
As The Times reports, The Tales of Beedle the Bard is “a collection of five wizarding fairy stories [and it] has been handwritten and illustrated by the author herself.” There will only be seven copies availabe, and they have all been “bound in brown morocco leather and mounted with silver and semi-precious stones.”
Yes, only seven. One of the copies will be auctioned off on December 13th, and the proceeds will go to her charity - The Children’s Voice. As for six others, she will give them to her friends.
Now you would think how unfair it is that millions of her fans will not get a chance to read this book. But bare in mind that one day it could easily be leaked to the media and get published into actual paperback books, since the demand is extremely high.
Here is a preview image of her work, taken from Sotheby’s.

Put your hands behind your back.
On a cold, Sunday afternoon, there’s nothing better to do than to stay in bed and watch movies. So, I type in the “TV-Links” web address on my browser, and the page does not open. So I thought to myself, ‘whatever, I’ll try again later’. While reading through online news and blogs, I found something that SHOCKED me completely! TV-Links has been shut down, and the 26-year-old site owner got arrested!
Tv-Links, if you don’t know, is one of the world’s most-used pirate film websites. It was the place to see the latest episodes of most TV series and movies ranging from old to new. With that gone, a part of my life is missing.
Then, I see another unexpected news headline about the Trevi Fountain in Rome turning red! Yesterday, A 54-year-old man (now arrested) put red coloring into the water, alarming tourists around there. Every thing is back to normal now, but you can see what it looked like from the image below.

So who else got arrested? Hmm… I wouldn’t be surprised if I see something about Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan. But I’m not even gonna go into that!
Let this be a lesson to you all, don’t do anything stupid because you could easily end up behind bars.
Boo hoo… I want TV-Links back! ![]()
Green Apple
I’m completely alarmed by this!
Apple is going to be sued by Greenpeace! What’s the connection? Well, in short, some researchers have taken apart an iPhone and found that there are certain chemicals that can be harmful if leaked.
I can’t even begin to say how ridiculous this is. Apple was told that on the iPhone package, there should be a warning label for environmental health (as many technological gadgets do). I understand this point… But will a sticker really make a difference?
If something were to leak out, will a sticker turn into a super sticker and prevent it from happening?!
By 2008, Apple would have to reformulate the iPhones without these “potentially leaking harmful chemicals”. Apple, as cool as it is, argued that “the levels of chemicals in its products adhere to government standards.”
So Greenpeace people, go hug a tree.

What to expect when you’re in Rome for the Film Fest…
In just its sophomore year, Rome is ready to host another grandiose film festival.
The movies that are part of the festival are characterized in four sections:
* Première
* Cinema 2007
* Extra
* Alice in the City
According to Filmfestivals.com 167 pictures are listed for projection, 11 World Premiers, and 500,000 people are expected to attend. The fest is not only about film. There will also be concerts, exhibitions and after parties where most people will try to sweet-talk their way into.
If you are in fact one of the 500,000 expected guests, here is what you should expect in Rome from October 18th until the 27th:
1. When you are strolling along Via Condotti, Rome’s most branded street, don’t forget to take a peek in Prada, Hermès or Louis Vuitton, because you might just be lucky enough to catch the lovely Cate Blanchett buying the latest designer handbag.
2. If you’ve been waiting for 20 minutes for a bus to take you to the Auditorium - Parco della Musica (the festival’s main venue), keep waiting. Public transports usually do take that long to arrive.
3. If you’ve been waiting over 40 minutes at the bus stop, there is a high chance that Rome’s bus drivers are on strike. Call a taxi immediately! Unless, of course, taxi drivers are on strike too; in which case, just buy a map and start running.
4. If you happen to see only a few Italians in movie theaters, do not wonder. Most likely, there is a soccer match going on that simply cannot be missed.
5. If you came to Rome with an American stud, don’t be surprised if you go back with an Italian sweetheart.
6. In the ten days of the festival, do not plan to go see a movie every single day. You’re in Rome: the most beautiful city in the world! Go sit in a piazza, drink some vino, and listen to musicians play classic Italian songs. You won’t enjoy this anywhere else.
So, if you are planning on attending the Rome Cinema Fest 2007, make sure you have all of these things in mind. But most importantly, expect the unexpected.
Rome is full of surprises.

The Apples of Our Eyes
I am sitting here getting ready to write a blog post with a huge smile on my face. Why? Well, last night I went to see the Lazio - Milan match at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico. It was the first time that I saw the loves of my life (A.C Milan) live, so I was basically extremely excited.
After many consecutive losses and ties, A.C Milan is now back in their form beating Lazio 5-1. Going to the stadium was definitely worth it
Ok, I get it, many of you probably have no interest in this news. But hey, we all like different things, right?
For all the gamers (people with interests I don’t seem to comprehend), Halo 3 has become the fast selling game EVER! In just the first day, $170 million worth of copies were sold ($300 million after the first week) . So if you’re a gamer and you don’t have this game yet, what on earth are you waiting for?!
I am now sitting next to a person holding an iPod Touch that he seems to be addicted to. After only 3 days of purchasing it, it’s now frozen! He can’t seem to be able to do anything about it, and of course the panic attack will come shortly.
What’s up with your products Steve Jobs?: The locking/unlocking of iPhones, Macbooks burning up and exploding, and iPods’ freezing for no reason…
But I have to admit, once you go ‘Apple’, you cannot go back

Rain Rain, Go Away
Heavy rains poured in the city of Rome today, and well, a day like this calls for some major relaxing. So basically all I did was stayed in bed and watched countless episodes of One Tree Hill (for the third time).
While I was taking a break from that, I checked the news to make sure that even if I was stuck inside the house, I knew what was going on outside (something you all should do every day!)
It turns out, not only was Rome the target of bad weather, but Taiwan and China’s coast was hit with a major Typhoon as well. 730,000 had to be evacuated due to the vicious winds going up to 180km/hr.
And then I came across a health article which encouraged pregnant women to eat more seafood, fish in particular, because it enhances brain development for the baby. This put a smile on my face because I could just picture my boyfriend saying, “I told you seafood is healthy!”.
Another very interesting one is that Sony is cutting the price of PlayStation 3 in Europe, down to 400Eur! Now all the people who are craving a PS3 will definitely have their eyes popping out right about now!
Oh well, I’m going back to enjoy yet another episode of One Tree Hill. I’ll leave you all with this:

What’s up with the world today?
Ever since I can remember, the only word to categorize these blog posts is “random”. I finally decided that now most of the posts will be under “What’s up with the world today?”
So basically from now on, while you edit your MySpace page, you can also pop into our blog just to make sure you’re up to date with what’s going on in your planet!
So, that being said, let’s get to today’s specials:
1. Happy 50th Birthday Sputnik!
Sputnik was the first man-made satellite to be sent to space, and it was done by the Russians (Not Americans!) It circles the earth every 96 minutes going 18,000 miles per hour… Awesome!
2. Kevin Federline gets to keep the kids, but Britney is allowed to visit. Personally, I think this is just wrong. You can’t take the kids away from their mother, it is actually very unhealthy for them. Britney just needs some guidance and help and hopefully she’ll be normal again.
3. Funny picture of the day: How to make men wash their hands
